Math About Me
📝 This post, Math about Me, was originally published in 2014 and has been updated with new information and resources.
I came across this fabulous idea on Pinterest from 4mula Fun! and immediately wanted to try it with my class. The original activity was designed for older students, so I adapted it for my first graders by creating a simple template with a little more structure.
One of my favorite things about this activity is that it combines math with getting to know your students. Children love sharing information about themselves, and using numbers gives it a fun math twist. It’s perfect for the beginning of the school year, but it’s just as much fun to revisit later on and compare how students’ answers have changed.
Before introducing it to my class, I always like to try activities myself first, so I made my own Math About Me page.

If you’d like to try this activity with your own class, I’ve included the template as a FREE download.

Cute! I love the math about me. When in the classroom, we always began the school year with math all about me: measuring, counting, graphing. This would be a fun addition to those mathematics activities.
Thanks!
What a fun idea! I am printing it to use with my daughter after school! Thank you for sharing!
This is so cute!
Thank you!!
