Free Thanksgiving math games for elementary students featuring turkey themed addition and subtraction practice

Thanksgiving Math Game

📝 This post, FREE Thanksgiving Math Game, has been updated with new information and resources.

My teaching partner and I used to set up math game stations for Grandparents Day, and this Thanksgiving Turkey Math Game was always one of my favorites. It was easy for families to learn, simple to differentiate, and a great way for students to practice their math skills.

This FREE Thanksgiving math game can be used for addition, subtraction, or multiplication. All you need are the printable game boards, number cards or dice, and you’re ready to play!

How to Play the Thanksgiving Turkey Math Game

Print the game boards and cut apart the number cards, or grab two dice.

Students pick two cards (or roll two dice) and write the numbers on the first two turkeys’ bellies.

Students solve the math fact and write the answer on the third turkey’s belly.

Keep playing until all the turkeys are filled!

Note: For subtraction, remind students to put the larger number first.

Other Ways to Use the Number Cards

Don’t put those number cards away when you’re finished! You can also use them to play Top-It (War), practice putting numbers in order, create number patterns, or play Go Fish.
