5 Little Snowmen

I am already thinking about snow. Probably because my eldest asks me everyday, “When is it going to snow?” So, wiith snow on my mind, I thought it was time to share another finger play to go along with our pumpkin, apples and ghost rhymes shared earlier in the year. Unforuntately, I do not have our toitle paper roll stands for our snowmen (they are on a container ship somewhere where in the Pacific Ocean), so we did without this time. Instructions for making the stands can be found in our post, Teacher Mama: Fall Fingerplays.

For these two finger plays, I cut out 5 snowmen, added hats, scarves , buttons, carrot noses and faces. Then we had some snowmen rhyming fun! Here are the two rhymes we used with our snowmen.

5 Little Snowmen

Five little snowmen standing in a row,

Standing straight and tall in the deep, cold snow.

Out came the sun, shining bright and hot all day,

And one little snowman melted away.

(Repeat with 4, 3, 2, 1, and 0.)

5 Little Snowmen

5 little snowmen sitting on the ground

The first one said, “Oh my! Aren’t we round!”

The second one said, “There are snowflakes in the air.”

The third one said, “But we don’t care.”

The fourth one said, “Let’s run and run and run.”

The fifth one said, “I’m ready for some winter fun.”

Wooooo went the wind and out came the sun,

and the five little snowman knew their fun was done.
