I am Martin Luther King Jr. Book Review
A few months ago I shared the book I am Lucille Ball from the Ordinary People Change the World Series. This is a fantastic series of biographies for young children. The text is simple enough for young children to understand and the illustrations are colorful and inviting. This series introduces young readers to different kinds of heros, real-life heroes.
Today, I get to share another addition to the series, Ordinary People Change the World: I am Martin Luther King Jr.
I am Martin Luther King Jr. by Brad Meltzer
Even as a child, Martin Luther King, Jr. was shocked by the terrible and unfair way African-American people were treated. When he grew up, he decided to do something about it—peacefully, with powerful words. He helped gather people together for nonviolent protests and marches, and he always spoke up about loving other human beings and doing what’s right. He spoke about the dream of a kinder future, and bravely led the way toward racial equality in America.
