UPDATED FREE Fact Family Activity Sheet
What is a fact family?
What is a fact family you may ask. Well, a fact family is made of 3 numbers. And from those 3 numbers, one can create 4 related math facts (2 addition and 2 subtraction). For example:
4+6=10
6+4=10
10-6=4
10-4=6
Why are fact families important?
They teach how numbers relate.
They teach basic addition and subtraction facts.
They teach the concept of equality.
They teach turn around facts. (4+6=10 and 6+4=10)
They help teach missing addend facts. (4+__=10)

Once your child understands fact families, he can use this template to create his own fact family and record the related math problems.

First, fill in the paper with the 3 numbers on the faces of the people.
Write the 4 related math problems.
Cut out the house and the roof.
Write the biggest number in the circle on the roof.
Glue the roof on the house and allow children to color it as they wish.
