Gingerbread Men Stories from Around the World
A lot of teachers read the Gingerbread Man to their class this time of year. I love the Gingerbread Man as much as the next mama or teacher, but what I love even more is finding other versions of a traditional story. I had a few such stories in my personal collection, but decided I wanted to compile a list of all of the Gingerbread Men stories from around the world. So, I set to doing so and was amazed with what I found. Here is a list of the different versions I found. My favorites are the The Runaway Rice Cake and The Runaway Wok both by Ying Chang Compestine.

I had no idea there were so many!! Love this list!
Brilliant! It made me think about Russian version that is called Kolobok. The setting is not Christmastime, but the premise of the story is very much the same! Thanks for co-hosting Afterschool!
