Two New Back-to-School Books

I LOVE these new books! I am so excited to share them with my students come September. I am also excited to share them with my book loving colleagues.

Milk Goes to School by Terry Border

Heading back to school is not always easy and making new friends can be quite tricky. So when Milk’s dad send her off to the first day of school with a brand new backpack and told her she is “the creme de la creme,” the other kids don’t agree. In fact, they think she is a bit “spoiled.” After a day of adventures and mishaps at school, Milk’s classmates figure out that it’s not just Milk that’s the “creme de la creme,” but some others are just as sweet as well.

School’s First Day of School by Adam Rex and Christian Robinson

It’s the first day of school at Frederick Douglass Elementary and everyone is nervous especially the school itself! School wonders what will happen once the children arrive? Will they like the new school? Will they be nice to him? Will they come back? School has a bumpy first day of school, but as the day goes on, he learns that he is not the only one having first day jitters!
