Number Sense Ice Cream Cone Game
How fun is this game! Print the templates, cut out the cones and ice cream scoops and play!
Materials
scissors
card stock
Preparation
Print the templates on card stock.
Cut out scoops and cones
Scoops include: ten frames, addition problems, finger counts and tallies
To Play
Best played with 4+ students
Each student chooses a cone.
Ice cream scoops are placed face down in the middle of the group.
Each player takes a turn to pick a scoop. If the scoop matches the cone, the player puts it on his/her cone. If it doesn’t match, student places the card back in the pile.
“Winner” collects all 5 scoops before the others in the group.
Note: Cone 1 only has 4 scoops.
This game can also be played by individuals after removing some of the cards from the stack. Too many cards takes too long to find the scoops!
