Activities for Teaching Solid Shapes
We just completed a chapter on plane and solid shapes in our math program. I created these activities to give our first graders extra practice with each of the concepts taught in the book.
A simple memory game to practice identifying and naming solid (3D) shapes.
Students create their own Solid (3D) Shape Bingo boards and play in small groups or as a class.
Students identify real objects from their world and draw them in the appropriate column. They also cut out shapes and sort them as well.
Students determine which shapes stack, slide and roll and can create two different types of graphs to show their understanding.
(with and without real world examples)
These simple, solid shape posters are great to hang in the classroom or in your home for quick reference. The posters come with or without real world examples on each sign.
