Popsicle Stick Sleds
Okay, how adorable are these popsicle stick sleds? I first spotted them on Pinterest while I was searching for a fun, holiday craft to do with my students next week. I immediately put this craft on my list to do at home with my boys and at school with our first graders.
(For the original idea, see this post from Creating by Cami: Tidbits)
Materials
Popsicle sticks (I used mini-wood sticks for this post, but also did this same craft with the larger popsicle sticks as well.)
Ribbon, string or yarn
hot glue gun and glue
scissors
brown paint
sandpaper (optional)
Directions
Arrange 5 popsicle sticks as shown below.
Break one stick in half (trim off the sharp bits). Hot glue the two halves across the 5 sticks to hold them in place.
Attach two more popsicle sticks on the sides. Be sure they are sticking out well above the “tallest” stick or you will not have enough room for the final stick.
Attach on final stick across the top.
Paint the sled with brown paint. When it is dry, you can sand the sled to make it look worn. We did not have any sandpaper so we skipped this step.
Once painted and dry, attach a piece of string behind the final horizontal stick for hanging.
