Play Dough Pumpkin Face Goodie Bags
I saw this idea on Pinterest recently and loved it so much I decided to make it for my son’s school Halloween celebration. The original pin had leaves on the pumpkin, but I decided to change it up a bit. Read on and you will see how I did it!
The first thing I did was to make a BIG batch of orange play dough. I used my favorite play dough recipe from K-3 Teacher Resources with a whole lot of orange gel to make the bright pumpkin orange color I wanted.
Once the play dough had cooled off, I separated it into 14 equal pieces and put them into some cellophane bags. I twisted one sparkly green pipe cleaner around the bag to hold it closed and to create the stem. I twisted the pipe cleaner up the bag a few times leaving an inch or so of pipe cleaner on each side.
I then took a pencil and curled the ends to look like the vine. (see photo)
I removed the pencil and ended up with curls on each end.
I then cut out eyes and a mouth from sticky back foam craft paper and stuck them on the bag to create the pumpkin face.
Aren’t they adorable??? I cannot wait to see the students’ faces when they see them!
Oh and I cannot forget, this is the one my son made for his teacher….
