The Ten Plus Game
A Game for Counting on from Ten
Understanding the value of ten and being able to count on from ten is an important skill for students to understand place value. I created this game for my students to practice adding numbers to ten or counting on from ten. It is a super simple game and my students really enjoyed it.
The Ten Plus Game
(also called the 10+ Game)
PREPARE: Print templates and number cards. Print the polka dots on the back of the number cards if desired. Cut cards apart and shuffle the deck.
TO PLAY: Place the cards face down in a pile. Player one picks a card and records it on his worksheet. He then adds that number to ten and writes the answer on the sheet. Player two repeats the same steps on his own paper.
HOW THE GAME ENDS: Play continues until the students have filled the back and front of their papers.
