Halloween Cookies: Witch Hats
I am a little obsessed with witch hats this season. I love the different ways they are depicted in everything from clipart to decorations to pictures created by my students. I found a witch hat cookie cutter at Big Lots for $1 and decided to take it home to make some cookies. I whipped up a batch of my favorite sugar cookies (eating quite a bit of the dough as I went along), rolled it out and used my witch hat cookie cutter to cut out the hats.
After baking the cookies and allowing them to cool, I iced them with some buttercream frosting I made using Wilton’s black food coloring gel. The black gel is the best because it allows you to get a really true black.
I then added some of these awesome sprinkles from Wilton’s Halloween Mega Sprinkle 4 Pack. My favorite was the little orange, green and black balls.
Now I don’t claim to be an award winning baker and cookie decorator, but I think these cookies turned out pretty well.
What do you think?
