Number of the Day Activity Sheets
The Red Shed Teachers are back again. This time we collaborated on some Number of the Day Activity Sheets. For those of you who are not familiar with The Number of the Day, it is a daily math activity which asks students to find numerous ways to “show” a number. See the examples below:
Number of the Day is 6:
- 6
- six
- 4+2, 3+3
- 8-2, 10-4
- 6×1, 3×2
- using 6 tallies
- drawing six balloons
- write the number in words
- draw the number
- show the number using place value or expanded notation
- show the number using coins
- determine if the number is odd or even
- figure out how many 1 more, 10 more and 100 more are
- show a number that is greater than and one that is less than that number
