Homework Survival Kit
I finally took my own suggestions (hee!) and created our family Homework Survival Kit. The kit is just one part of BMTM’s Homework Packet and Survival Kit (updated September 2018) and I have been wanting to make it for a while. And, this morning I was inspired by the Crayola buy one get one free promotion at Toys r Us.
Materials:
- container of some sort
- school supplies (pencils, crayons, markers, colored pencils, erasers, scissors, pencil sharpener, glue stick etc)
Creating the Homework Survival Kit
The Container
I did not want to buy a new container so I took 4 empty water bottles we had in our recycling, cleaned and dried them, cut off the tops. and taped them together.
I then used some cute contact paper we had in our craft closet and wrapped it around the bottles and over the edges because they are a bit sharp.
The Supplies
I picked up a handful of school supplies from the store…
Then added a few things we already had…
Putting It All Together
We then opened up all the boxes and put our supplies in our Homework Survival Kit. I also plan to add a number line for math homework, but haven’t printed it yet. Click here for a free number line.
Then we added our label and now we are all ready for whatever homework comes our way!
Here are a few new labels I made to share with you. Simply click on the image to download!
The Homework Survival Kit as, well, Homework!

I love this! It’s my first year of homework (well, my daughter’s first year 🙂 as she’ll be in first grade. This looks like a great thing to set up at the table as she works. Love the printables too!
