The Greedy Triangle by Marilyn Burns

Triangle is bored with being a triangle so he visits the local shapeshifter and POOF! is turned into a quadrilateral. He loves being a quadrilateral for a while, but then becomes bored again and returns to the shapeshifter who turns him into a pentagon. But triangle is never really satisfied and finally after several trips to the shapeshifter and after adding more and more angles, he returns one more time and asks to be made a triangle once more.

The Perfect Square by Michael Hall

It was a perfect square. It had four matching corners and four equal corners. And was perfectly happy. But on Monday, the square was cut into pieces and poked full of holes. It wasn’t perfectly square anymore.

All throughout the week, the square is changed and turns itself into something new. After being torn, it becomes a garden. After being shattered, it becomes a bridge. This continues until Sunday, when nothing happens to the square. You will have to read the book to find out what happens at the end.

When a Line Bends… A Shape Begins by Rhonda Growler Greene

A line is thin. A line is narrow– curved like a worm, straight as an arrow.

But what happens when you bend a line? Shapes form of course! Squares, rectangles, triangles and more are shared in this story introducing young readers to the shapes all around them.

Circle, Square, Moose by Kelly Bingham

This one is hilarious! Moose infiltrates this book about shapes because, well, he loves shapes. He creates chaos on every page and it is up to his friend, Zebra to save the book and restore order.

Captain Invincible and the Space Shapes by Stuart J. Murphy

Captain Invincible and his space dog, Comet are on a journey back to earth. Along the way, they encounter all kinds of obstacles like poisonous gases and alien beings. The only way to make it home safely is to identify the solid shapes on their control panel and defeat their enemies and obstacles.
