Teacher Mama: Homophone Practice To Too Two

Homophone Practice To Too Two

Boy Mama Teacher Mama Homophone Practice to, too, two

My students are having a hard time with the homophones to, too and two. While not unexpected in first grade, we are working on it. I always find that a game is a great way to teach a concept and keep it fun. Here is the game I created to practice using the homophones to, too and two. Surprisingly it is called, “To, Too and Two.” 🙂

Creating the Game

Templates

Glue

Scissors

Print the templates and assemble the game board.

To Play

Give each player a playing piece and have them put in on the “start here” button.

Place all the cards face down in a pile.

The first player draws a card from the pile and reads the sentence.  For example, the card might say, “I would like some cake ___.”

He then decides if to, two or too goes in the blank. In this case, “too” is the correct answer.  The player then moves his playing piece to the first spot with “too” on it.

The game continues as such until all players reach the  “end here” space.
