The Greedy Triangle FREE Printable

If you haven’t read, The Greedy Triangle, by Marilyn Burns, you are missing out. It is a wonderful story about shapes and perfect for use in the classroom or just to enjoy at home.

Triangle is bored with being a triangle so he visits the local shapeshifter and POOF! is turned into a quadrilateral. He loves being a quadrilateral for a while, but then becomes bored again and returns to the shapeshifter who turns him into a pentagon.  But triangle is never really satisfied and finally after several trips to the shapeshifter and after adding more and more angles, he returns one more time and asks to be made a triangle once more.

After reading this story, I asked my students to pick a shape they like and to complete the following sheet.

The ideas they came up with were fantastic and really unique. I was sure to ask them to add a “because” to their sentence so I knew just why their shape liked being the way the chose.
